Now that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is finally here, Borderlands fans can jump into the latest Gearbox game for a taste of chaos, blood, and pristine looter shooter action. Like any great Borderlands game, though, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is best played with a group of friends.

Luckily, Gearbox has given fans of the franchise even more ways to play with others thanks to the introduction of crossplay. With crossplay, players can team up with their fellow adventurers whether they’re on PC or console, making it even easier to get together for a stomp and romp of a good time.

How to enable crossplay in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands menu screen

So you want to team up with your friends, huh? Well, Gearbox has actually made the process quite simple in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. In fact, you’ll actually be greeted by a menu mentioning it the first time that you boot up the game. After accepting all of the various terms and conditions that Gearbox requires, you’ll be given a disclaimer mentioning the studios SHiFT system.

1. Make a SHiFT Account

SHiFT has been around for a long time. It’s kind of the system that holds all of the Borderlands franchise together, and if you’ve played a Borderlands game in the past, you probably already have a SHiFT account. If you don’t, you’re going to need to make one. You can do this directly from the game in the settings menu, or you can head over to the SHiFT website itself.

2. Log into your Account

Once you’ve made your account, head into the game and log in. Now, it’s time to turn crossplay on so you can start playing with your friends.

3. Click on the Settings Menu

To do this, head to the Settings menu and then select Network and Social from the top of the screen.

Here you’ll see a list of different options, including your Group Privacy, Crossplay, Friend sync, Matchmaking Region, Text Chat toggle, and even how you want to handle trade requests. To enable crossplay, simply toggle the crossplay option to On.

4. Select Friends from Social Menu

From here, all you need to is back out to the main menu, select Social, and then choose the friends that you want to join up with. Alternatively, you can also join random players around your same level, if you’re feeling up for an adventure with strangers. You can also add friends directly in the SHiFT friends menu, which will allow you to see them whenever they are online.

Now, you should be good to go to play one of the funniest games of the year with your own party members! You'll be on your way to a hilarious good time in just a few moments.

Preguntas frecuentes

How many people can play cross-platform at the same time?

Wonderlands allows four players to join the same game simultaneously, much like the earlier Borderlands titles. Co-Op features are restricted to two players on Xbox One and PS4, and extends to four players on PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5.

When can I start playing multiplayer?

It takes some time to access multiplayer. Like all Borderlands games, it begins with a lengthy prologue that introduces the story and gameplay. The prologue ends when you have your shield and can play the "War" part of the story. This allows you to play with other people on other platforms.

How many playing modes are there in Wonderlands?

When playing with friends, you can alternate between two modes tailored to your preferred looting style. The first, Cooperation, customizes loot for each character separately. The second, Coopetition, scales difficulty based on the host's character and shares loot, enabling quick-draw players to snatch the best items.
