While the Apex Pro Mini features SteelSeries' patented OmniPoint 2,0 switches, the Apex 9 series includes next-gen OptiPoint optical switches. OptiPoint switches use optical light sensors for a faster, more responsive, and more consistent input than traditional mechanical switches.

How do I switch between "gaming" and "typing" modes on my Apex 9 Mini?

The Apex 9 Mini can toggle between gaming mode (1mm) and typing mode (1.5mm) using SteelSeries GG or on-device controls. To switch modes, press and hold the SteelSeries function key and "O" for gaming mode or "I" for typing mode. The number "1" will light up when gaming mode is active; "2" will light up when typing mode is active.

How do I configure lighting on my Apex 9 Mini?

The Apex 9 Mini includes 5 preconfigured lighting profiles. For advanced lighting configuration and customization, download SteelSeries Engine.

What is the difference between the Apex 9 Mini and Apex 9 TKL?

Besides the size difference, the Apex 9 TKL includes a dedicated volume roller and media button for easy-access to system volume and media playback controls. The Apex 9 Mini has side-printed functions on certain keys to fulfill fullsize keyboard functionality.
